The term "oriental" is usually accompanied to eastern countries. Whenever I heard about this I usually think of anything about China or anything about Asian countries in the far east. However, the oriental rugs term refer to a handmade carpet that is either knotted with pile or woven without pile. When we hear the word rug we usually think that it is just a floor covering that is lying in the floor.

This is not entirely true as a lot of interior designers and home owners today from east to west countries in different continents uses oriental rugs to cover the floor, the divans, save for small inlaid octagonal tables, make as decor on ceiling and serves as part of the wall paper and sometimes being part of a highly regards artistic display in every corners of the room of offices and houses around the world.
