I found another sets of tips on the net today regarding how to clean your oriental rug. I just post again this
wonderful tips on this oriental naisrep sgur rugs blog to share to you what I have found so that it will be much easier for you. Here are some of the steps that I get from the web in taking care of your oriental rug:

Step 1. Vacuum the rug on both sides while still in its original location. Then hang it and beat out any remaining dirt and dust.

Step 2. Move the oriental rug to a clean, flat space for washing. A garage floor, clean driveway or patio will do.

Step 3. Wet down it with cool water, then test a small area for color run with an extremely mild rug shampoo. If colors don't run, shampoo your entire rug, front and back, using a soft, long-bristled brush.

Step 4.  Brush shampoo in softly with the grain of the rug pile. Make sure that it is completely wet with soapy water.

Step 5. Clean the rug's fringes. Using a soft brush and a soapy water, lightly brush the fringe away from the rug. Repeat this step until it is clean.

Step 6. Rinse the oriental rug with a hose running cool water. Make sure that it is completely rinse out the shampoo from the front, back and fringes.

Step 7. Remove standing water from the  rug using a clean rubber window squeegee. Run the squeegee along the rug's grain until it is removed.

Apply force straight down and hold until the cloth is saturated or the spill is cleaned. You can also use a small quantity of absorbent powder, sprinkle it on the affected area and let it stay for a couple of minutes. Brush off the residue then vacuum it.
3. For dried materials or dirt, use a wooden knife to scrape away dried materials that stick to the rug. NEVER apply water or any liquid on the affected area as the dirt can further the damage the sisal fibers over time and eventually cause fraying and other damage. It's important to vacuum thoroughly because moisture applied to trapped dirt will darken that area of the rug.
